Bridal dreams from Chicago: read Meghan’s story

Even though October may feel all cozy and relaxed for a bride-to-be, full of dreamy and quiet wedding planning on a secret Pinterest board, the wedding planning clock has already started tickling – especially if the date is fixed for the upcoming spring. It’s the case of Meghan, one of our lovely brides-to-be from Chicago, who’s celebrating her love dream next May 29th 2016 and whose wedding countdown has already started. Meghan is a teacher and her fiancée, Albert, is a doctor: their jobs won’t let them be that much quiet and snuggly-in-a-blanket relaxed about their wedding planning, so they’ve already started their preparations carefully. Truth be told, their busy work schedules are not preventing them to be very creative: “We do not have a wedding theme,” says Meghan, “but we are looking to incorporate our dog (a pug named Vito) in as many ways as possible! We did so in our engagement photos, now we created a special Martini named after him, custom M&Ms with his image on them for our wedding favors, among other things. Our colors are pale purple and metallic gold”.

We got in touch with Meghan via Facebook, after she sought assistance to find her favorite Elisabetta Polignano’s wedding gown in one of our partner boutiques in the area of Chicago. “While I was on vacation in Philadelphia, a friend and I popped into a bridal shop”, she says. “I thought I would like A-line dresses with full skirts, but I saw that particular Polignano dress and loved it. I wanted my mom and sister to be able to see it to experience it with me and because it was so unlike anything I thought I would like. Elisabetta was so generous to coordinate sending the dress to Chicago, so my mom and sister could be there!

The gown Meghan chose has lace across the top, ruching in the middle, and is tight through the hips. “I love everything about it!”, she claims enthusiastically, “The most special thing about it is the removable skirt. I will wear the sheer skirt for the ceremony and then remove it for our entrance to the reception. It is like having two dresses in one! I love the drama and the elegance of the dress and think it is so unique compared to all of the other dresses out there. My favorite part about it is actually the lace that trims the skirt. It is so delicate and unique and looks great with a simple cathedral-length veil”.

In a few months, Meghan is going back to our boutique for her fitting. We’ll be following her adventure and keep you posted about her story! In the meantime, she kindly showed us her gratefulness: “The dress is truly a dream come true – even better than what I could imagine: I would love to thank the stylist in person for making it happen! Her dresses are truly beautiful and unique, and they stand out against everything else!”.

Thanks to you, Meghan! We’re so glad to help you make your dream come true.
