5 top honeymoon destinations in 2019

We have selected five from the best destinations that travel experts recommend to visit this year. There are options for any sort of honeymoon you’re planning, from the romantic and urban kind to the most adventurous and active tours through regions or countries.

1. Let’s start from a European city, Copenaghen. The capital of Denmark has big news this year, starting from the Cityringen: the subway will be completed in the half of 2019, so moving through the city will be easier. For the most exigent gourmets, the Noma has a renewed location and you’ll find excellent street food at Refshaleøen, where a naval construction site has been converted to a market opening this spring 2019, the Reffen. Winter wonders are at the Tivoli Garden amusement park, which offers a new season in February. Super new is the futuristic and waste-to-energy Amager Bakke, opened a month ago, with its artificial ski slope on top and recreational hiking area.

2. Sri Lanka is in rapid evolution. Always beautiful with its ancient temples, abundant and easily reachable fauna, amazing for surf lovers, it offers a variety of activities for all pockets. It’s good for adventurous explorers or ecotourists as well as for travelers who just want to relax and enjoy the national cuisine. In 2019 many areas that were closed to the public, in the north and east part of the country, are now accessible.

3. Museum addicted? Choose Germany this year. The Bauhaus, artistic revolution and prelude to the Modernism, celebrates 100 years in 2019. In Weimar, Dessau and Berlin beautiful museums will be inaugurated and through Germany dozens of events and exhibits are already scheduled.

4. Italy, amore mio! This year pick Piedmont, if you visit the Bel Paese. Contemporary art and electronic music, together with the Leonardo da Vinci’s Self Portrait exposed in the Biblioteca Reale for the 500th anniversary of the artist’s death, are hot in Turin. Don’t forget also the suggestive and remote trailers in the Alps, the quaint and colorful villages and the beautiful valleys that offer some of the best red wines and white truffles of Italy.

5. On a budget? Southern Nile Valley, Egypt. In 2019 the magnificent ancient sites along the Nile are affordable. If you go for a cruise, board and overland transportation are included; otherwise you can plan tours on your own, it is cheap and worth the experience.
