Maddalena and Luca’s wedding story is like a movie

“I was late at the church because my brother, whom I chose to walk down the aisle with, couldn’t close our home’s gate. I stayed in the car waiting for him for a quarter of an hour! I laughed about it and then we rushed to the church”. Maddalena’s wedding story makes you thrill and laugh. We met her among the brides-to-be during our “My Wedding Dress” web series’ casting. Her wedding day came last May 9th, when she said her “I do” to Luca. The religious ceremony was held in San Lorenzo’s church, in Gorla Minore, the Italian region of Varesotto. Relatives and friends have been welcomed afterwards in Villa La Valera for the party, in Arese, near Milan. “We didn’t choose a real theme, but our tableau was inspired by international movie stars and our centerpiece were little glass jars which I decorated with my friends with satin and lace ribbons and paper flowers”, says Maddalena, “and we chose the movie stars because, well, Luca and I are now protagonists of our new story”. Ivory was the decorations’ main color, while the wedding favors were tiny jam jars the bride prepared with her mom.

“Luca proposed last June in Vernazza, one of Le Cinque Terre”, she tells us, “he found a terrace on the sea shore and he gave me the ring right there. He didn’t bend on his knee because he kinda forgot about it! But it was perfect anyway”. Maddalena’s wedding gown was one of the first she chose when thinking about her wedding. “I found out about Elisabetta Polignano on Instagram and I went to her Atelier in Saronno to try some dresses. I immediately fell in love with the one I chose: its fascination captured me and I simply loved the way it made me feel when I was wearing it”.

The dress was white, slip, with a bustier in lace and a long train. Maddalena made it even more personal with a laced shrug for the ceremony and a long veil with satin on the edges. Her hairstyle was suggested to her by Elisabetta Polignano in person: it was a semilateral up hairdo, combined with a really nude and natural looking make-up, all made really shiny by her beautiful light colored eyes and by the blendings of pearl grey and white shades of her dress. “A stunning mixture, everyone remained speechless!”.
